It looks like Bill Ritter has found a friend at the Rocky Mountain News. A “reporter” named Stuart Steers published this virtual press release story yesterday about Ritter’s hiring of Greg Kolomitz as campaign manager. This couldn’t have been more syrupy if Ritter or Kolomitz had written it personally:
Bill Ritter, the former Denver district attorney who is running for governor, scored a coup Thursday by hiring one of Colorado’s best-known political consultants as his campaign manager.
Greg Kolomitz, a veteran of dozens of campaigns, will take a leave from his position as president of CRL Associates Inc. to run Democrat Ritter’s campaign. Kolomitz has run several successful campaigns recently. Those include the FasTracks drive last year, elections this fall to institute a pay-for-performance plan in Denver Public Schools and the raising of the Lakewood sales tax.
“One of my goals has long been to manage a Colorado gubernatorial campaign,” Kolomitz said in a statement. “Bill Ritter is the ideal candidate. He’s a man of great integrity and honesty.”
Kolomitz is a Colorado native who grew up in La Junta. As a child, he helped his grandfather campaign for district attorney and his father run for the school board.
Political insiders saw the move as a sign Ritter is solidifying his support in the Democratic Party. A devout Catholic, his anti-abortion stance has alienated some Democrats.
Katy Atkinson, a GOP campaign consultant, said Ritter is likely to be the Democratic nominee.

So it’s a “puff job,” as contrasted, I supposed, with the brutal hard-hitting analysis on Colorado Pols where everything from the grass growing to the sun rising in the east is interpreted as proof of the irresistable momentum of Marc Holtzman? Yeah, right. The dweeb’s staff even blind-sided you with IP-gate, and you still leave him as the Republican favorite.
The reporter played it straight, as opposed, I supposed, to the hard-hitting analysis of Coloradopols which takes every act of man or nature, including grass growing and the sun rising in the east, as proof of the irresistible momentum of Marc Holtzman! This guy’s staff even trashed your credibility with IP-gate and you STILL keep him top in the line.
Get over it, Voyageur. You’re starting to sound like that bitter old man, Bob Youagain.
Have you noticed though, that the sun hasn’t risen in the West since Marc Holtzman got in the GOV race?
Let’s not mess with a good thing folks. Vote Marc Holtzman for GOV next fall, least the sun decide to rise in the West and mess us all up. 😉
I’ll buy your argument that the sun hasn’t changed its habits since Holtzman began his run, George…err, Iron Mike. But the part about the grass growing, I dunno. The grass that has been growing in Denver lately has a real funny smell to it, but I’m told it is safer than alcohol. I wouldn’t know, after my last bypass the docs told me to quit smoking.
Your loyal veep, Dick.
I know: He should have hired the ColoradoPols.com flunkie, Laura Teal. Then the story would have been credible.
Until you lying, fraudulant cowards behind ColoradoPols.com admit to your identies you inbred, illiterate assholes have no credibility and merit no respect or consideration.
LOL. ColoradoPols even has got me agreeing with ‘voyageur’. What’s next, dogs and cats living together?
